Walk 1

This is a linear walk starting at Collin Village Hall at the above grid reference. There is a small parking area next to the hall. The walk takes you through lovely farming country and woodland. There is an underpass for pedestrians under the A75 just to the left of the village hall. This brings you almost to the B724. Turn right onto this road. It’s a narrow road with not much traffic although there may be large farm machinery on the move. Walk along the road to Greenlea and turn right. Walk through the village past the houses turning right at the end of the road and then a sharp left over the railway line. (see map 1 opposite). This is a new section of path that takes you to Racks. (see map 2) It is possible to walk to Elizafield and Racks on the B724 to access this path. Walk through Racks to the end of the houses. Walk past the houses and onto a track at the end on the right. This takes you between Craigs Moss and Racks Moss and you will walk parallel to Lochar Water. Back track to return to Collin.

Walk 2

Just after the railway line in Racks the path into the Racks Moss may be passable. On some maps this is a circular walk on some OS maps it isn’t. Woodland tracks change over time.
