Collin Walks
Walks from Collin
The Triangle (Collin to Linns and Torthorwald back to Collin)
This walk takes place on narrow tarmac
roads. The first part of the road is steep and
there may be tractors on the road. From the
Main Road in Collin walk up hill to Braehead
Farm. Continue past the farm to Linns at the
cross road turn left for Torthorwald.
continue straight on to the sharp left turn.
The road takes you back to Braehead Farm
and Collin
Distance - approx 5km
Difficulty - steep sections from Collin then easy.

Collin to Racks Moss or Racks Moss/Lochar Moss
Distance - approximately 6km
Difficulty - mostly flat with some off road sections

Walk 1
This is a linear walk starting at Collin Village Hall at
the above grid reference. There is a small parking
area next to the hall. The walk takes you through
lovely farming country and woodland.
•
There is an underpass for pedestrians under
the A75 just to the left of the village hall.
•
This brings you almost to the B724. Turn right
onto this road. It’s a narrow road with not
much traffic although there may be large farm
machinery on the move.
•
Walk along the road to Greenlea and turn right.
•
Walk through the village past the houses
turning right at the end of the road and then a
sharp left over the railway line. (see map 1
opposite).

This is a new section of path that takes you to
Racks. (see map 2)
•
It is possible to walk to Elizafield and Racks on
the B724 to access this path.
•
Walk through Racks to the end of the houses.
•
Walk past the houses and onto a track at the
end on the right.
•
This takes you between Craigs Moss and Racks
Moss and you will walk parallel to Lochar
Water.
•
Back track to return to Collin.
Walk 2
Just after the railway line in Racks the path into the
Racks Moss may be passable. On some maps this
is a circular walk on some OS maps it isn’t.
Woodland tracks change over time.
